Wannon Water launches annual community grants program

01 June 2020

Wannon Water has launched its annual Ripple Effect grants program with $44,000 available to local organisations and schools who are planning projects and events that have broad community benefit.

The program is in line with our strategic direction of “going beyond water for strong communities” and our purpose of delivering water and sewerage services and improving the lives of people in south-west Victoria.

The program has three streams:

  • Community grants of up to $5,000 are available for not-for-profit, volunteer-based, community organisations to undertake projects that aim to strengthen communities.
  • International aid grants of up to $4,000 are available for local community organisations undertaking projects to strengthen communities overseas.
  • School based grants of up to $1,000 are available for schools (or school councils) to undertake projects within their school community.

Projects must be great value for money and align with one or more of the key themes in Wannon Water’s community strategy which are regional prosperity, education, training and volunteering, health and wellbeing, and the natural environment.

Last year, 20 projects were awarded a total of $44,000 in funding under the Ripple Effect program.

Applicants must demonstrate matched funding for their project, either through cash or in-kind volunteer contributions.

Applications open on Monday 1 June and close at 4pm on Monday 29 June.
