Renters liable for water charges

If you are a residential renter, your water account will reflect only the cost of your water usage.

Under the Water Act the property owner is responsible for notifying us of an occupying renter with a minimum of two working days’ notice required to be provided. We will accept notifications from the owner, agent or renter using the “rental notification” form available on our moving page. However, in the absence of us being advised of an occupying renter, the property owner will remain liable for water usage charges. Renters remain responsible for providing us with a minimum of two working days’ notice when vacating a property.
