Steven Waterhouse

Steven was appointed as Managing Director in July 2025 after working at Wannon Water for 18 years.

Prior to beginning his career in the water sector, Steven had experience in audit, payroll and business advisory services at a regional accounting firm, and as a finance manager in the Victorian thoroughbred racing industry.

A Chartered Accountant, Steven completed a Bachelor of Commerce from Deakin University and has many years of corporate governance experience.

He was Wannon Water’s Chief Financial Officer from 2011, holding executive responsibility for financial, economic regulation, people, risk, safety, audit, corporate, legal, strategy, technology and information management functions during that time. Prior to becoming MD, his previous role as General Manager People and Business Services was focused on financial, people, risk, safety and audit functions, with a strong emphasis on financial, economic regulation and risk.

Steven’s contribution to the community in both professional and voluntary roles is driven by a desire to enhance the region’s prosperity through economic and social value, and via enhanced educational opportunities and outcomes for people and business.

His governance, corporate and financial acumen are attributes that he draws on. Steven’s 20-plus year governance experience in Government and not for profit sectors, includes experience as Chair, Deputy Chair, Treasurer and sub-committee Chair.
