About the event

Celebrate World Water Day with us with some amazing views and interesting water facts!
This year we’re opening our West Warrnambool Water Tower to the community.

Climb up 154 steps to experience 360 degree views across Warrnambool and even as far as Port Fairy on a clear day.

Learn more about the history of the water tower, the important role it has in providing water to our homes and the significance of the mural artwork to Warrnambool’s diverse multicultural community.

When: Thursday 19 March 2026

Time: 2pm- 5:30pm

Where: Hyland St, Warrnambool

Getting there

The West Warrnambool Water Tower is located on Hyland St next to Friendlies Oval precinct in Warrnambool.

Important information

Tours will be 15 minutes with a max of 15 people. Minimum age is 5 years and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Participants must be fit and physically active as you will need to climb 154 steps to the top. 

Long pants and non-slip, closed toe shoes are required. Cameras are allowed.

No backpacks or handbags are permitted for safety and security reasons.

The event may be cancelled at short notice due to adverse weather. If this happens, we will email attendees to advise of the cancellation or you can keep an eye on our Facebook page.

Wannon Water may take photographs and videos of the event and may include your image, recordings of your voice and/or your name (collectively the materials).

Wannon Water may wish to use and reproduce the materials for the following purposes:

  • The creation of promotional, advertising, educational or marketing material through various communication mediums such as, but not limited to, print materials, web, social media and television purposes; and
  • Other reasonable purposes connected with Wannon Water’s business.
