Join our community panel on effluent management in Warrnambool
Calling on community members
Managing sewage and trade waste is a complex and constantly evolving task and we’re committed to improving our processes to better protect the environment.
We are now looking for people living, working or owning a business in Warrnambool, Allansford and Koroit to join a community panel to discuss how to best manage Warrnambool’s treated effluent.
Approximately 25 people will be randomly selected to participate in the panel and you could get up to $500 off your water bills for participating.
You don’t need any prior knowledge to take part. All you need is an open and curious mind and a willingness to work with others.
Role of the Panel
We are developing an effluent management strategy that will investigate alternative disposal methods for the treated effluent. It will consider issues including:
- The costs of managing sewage and keeping water and sewerage service bills affordable.
- The results of scientific studies.
- Solutions that are technically feasible.
- Environmental impacts.
- What matters to the community.
The Panel will help inform the methodology for identifying the long term management plan, and review the proposed management plan to ensure community priorities have been understood and considered.
What does it involve?
To be selected, you’ll need to be able to attend all four-panel sessions:
- Panel session 1: Saturday November 23, 2024, 10:00am – 3:00pm (In person)
