Every drop counts photo competition winners!

We use water every day. It can be easy to forget how precious it is. Especially in the recent dry conditions in the region, every drop we can save makes a difference!

That’s why, together with Southern Rural Water and the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority we asked people in our region to share a photo focused on the value of water.

Wannon Water’s Communications Project Advisor Courtney Mathew said the response from the community has been amazing.

“We’ve seen creative photos showing water in gardens, in the environment, and being enjoyed for recreation – all highlighting just how vital water is to us,”

Congratulations to the winners selected by a panel of judges:

  • Tim with his Lake Mombeong Sunrise shot won the open competition.
  • Ruby took out the junior comp with a sunset beach photo, a reminder of the role beaches play in the environment, supporting tourism and offering habitat for wildlife.

After receiving so many fantastic entries, it’s time for you to have your say!

Voting is open for the people’s choice award, and we want to know which photo you think best captures the importance of water in our lives.

The photo with the most votes will receive a water saving prize pack and a $50 Bunnings voucher.

Voting is open at engage.wannonwater.com.au and closes on 5 May 2025.
