Every drop counts photo competition winners!

We use water every day. It can be easy to forget how precious it is. Especially in the recent dry conditions in the region, every drop we can save makes a difference!
That’s why, together with Southern Rural Water and the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority we asked people in our region to share a photo focused on the value of water.
Wannon Water’s Communications Project Advisor Courtney Mathew said the response from the community has been amazing.
“We’ve seen creative photos showing water in gardens, in the environment, and being enjoyed for recreation – all highlighting just how vital water is to us,”

Congratulations to the winners:

- Tim with his Lake Mombeong Sunrise shot won the open competition.
- Ruby took out the junior comp with a sunset beach photo, a reminder of the role beaches play in the environment, supporting tourism and offering habitat for wildlife.
- The photo that best captured the importance of water in our lives as voted by the community was from Alyvia featuring Koharu the sheep.
“Koharu will only drink water from the tap. Her name translates to “spring” in Japanese and she has become a very special character on our farm. Watching her drink water fresh from the tap reminds me that all living creatures can appreciate clean fresh water, especially after a long hot summer.”
