Wannon Water attends VicWater’s annual conference
We’re being bold in our work to care for and protect the environment
Our Managing Director Andrew Jeffers is attending VicWater’s annual conference this week which is focussing on caring for Country and advancing sustainability in the Victorian water sector.
The conference, which is being held in Melbourne, involves more than 200 sector leaders, board directors and senior management. It aims to challenge and provoke the issues that matter and shape the water industry.
Keynote speaker was global thought leader, environmental champion and 2007 Australian of the Year, Professor Tim Flannery, while the Minister for Water Harriet Shing spoke at the conference dinner on Wednesday night.
Other sessions included the long-term impact that increasing extreme weather events are having on the state’s economy, Traditional Owner water governance, managing environmental risks, and integrated water management.
Mr Jeffers joined a panel that discussed climate adaptation and community resilience. It also included the CEO if the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority Adam Bester, Lara Olsen the Managing Director of South East Water and Fran MacDonald from Brimbank City Council
