Every drop count photography competition

South-west residents can win some great prizes in a regional photography competition that aims to highlight the importance of saving of water.

Wannon Water, Southern Rural Water the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority have teamed up to organise the competition to mark World Water Day 2025. Entries show an image of water in the garden, in the environment or for recreation – anything that demonstrates why water is important.

The competition winners will be announced at the Koroit Irish Festival for:

  • Junior – under 18 years old – JBL Flip 6 Portable Waterproof Speaker and water saving prize pack
  • Open – all other entries – Water saving prize pack and $250 Bunnings voucher.

Voting for the people’s choice award is now open with the winner receiving a water saving prize pack and $50 Bunnings voucher.

National Water Week 2025 poster competition

To help celebrate, we’ve again partnered with Southern Rural Water and the Glenelg Hopkins Catchment Management Authority to host our annual poster competition.

The theme for this year’s competition is Water Heroes: Save Every Drop! The competition is now open until 5pm Friday, 12 September. Winners will be announced during National Water Week, 20 – 26 October 2025.

The theme for National Water Week 2024 was ‘Water for all, inspiring action’ highlights the important role water plays in bringing individuals and communities together.

An amazing 222 primary school students from across the region showcased Water for all. inspiring action with their posters. A huge thank you to everyone who entered as well as all of the parents, caregivers and teachers who helped facilitate their work!
