Wannon Water’s 2025/26 Annual Report highlights a year of major infrastructure investment, reliable service delivery and support for customers across the region.
The year marked the completion of the $85 million Warrnambool Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade, the largest single infrastructure investment in Wannon Water’s history, while work continued on projects to improve water quality, strengthen water security and support regional growth.
Wannon Water maintained reliable water and sewerage services for more than 46,000 customers across 34 towns, delivering 12,859 million litres of drinking water from its diverse range of sources.
Managing Director Steven Waterhouse said the past year highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure while continuing to support customers through cost-of-living pressures.
“At the same time, we know many households continue to face financial pressures, which is why supporting customers remained a key priority.”
More than $3.9 million was provided through water and sewerage concessions, 3,300 customers were supported through flexible payment plans, and 231 hardship grants were provided to those who needed support.
Mr Waterhouse said the completion of the Warrnambool Sewage Treatment Plant Upgrade represented a significant milestone for the region.
“The upgrade will support population growth, housing development and business investment for decades to come, while continuing to protect public health and the environment.”
Another significant project was the completion of one of Australia’s largest floating solar arrays at Brierly Basin, which is expected to reduce electricity costs and greenhouse gas emissions while generating renewable energy from existing infrastructure.
