Delivering water to the public
Private drinking water carters are private businesses that deliver water for sale to the public that is intended for human consumption. This includes purposes connected with human consumption, such as making ice or food preparation.
Ensuring the water is safe
Water transport businesses selling water must ensure the water sold for human consumption is safe to drink or use in food preparation by:
- Obtaining water from a potable source.
- Only using registered water transport vehicles.
- Ensuring water transport vehicles can be cleaned and sanitised appropriately.
All private drinking water carters must register their water transport vehicles with their local council via FoodTrader.
