Our MRWA design requirements are changing
We’re updating our Land Development Manual, website and related documents to require sewer and water designs to reference version 2 of the MRWA.
Until these updates are complete, we’ll continue to accept designs referencing either version 1 (Wannon Water supplements and standard drawings), or version 2 of the MRWA.
What does it cover?
The manual covers projects involving the:
- Subdivision of land or existing buildings.
- Construction of buildings or tenements that may not be subject to subdivision.
- Connecting allotments to our services.

Sewer and Water Servicing Guidelines
Our Sewer and Water Servicing guidelines explain the requirements needed to service land with water and sewerage. They’re designed to help developers, plumbers, designers, builders and property owners understand their responsibilities and ensure a consistent approach across all types of development.
If a situation calls for different requirements, we’ll assess it and let you know what’s needed.

It sets clear expectations to protect water security, the environment and reliable supply, while supporting efficient, sustainable water use and long‑term economic growth across Victoria.
